College of Architecture IET Bhaddal is the dream come true of the Founder Chairman, KFET, Late Sh. Gurcharan Singh, who visioned to set up a state of art educational institution in the field of Architectural Education and produce competent professionals to serve society and the community.
During last seven years of its existence, College of Architecture has ably demonstrated its capacity, competency and commitment in the field of architectural education and architectural ethics to fulfill the dream of Founder Chairman.. Students graduating from the institute have not only achieved academic excellence but have also done exceedingly well in profession and the practice through their performance bringing laurels to its alma matter.
With globalization and liberalization, numbers of challenges are fast emerging in the domain of designing of the built environment, use of new building materials and building technologies. Challenges revolve around evolving state of art building design which are sustainable, eco- friendly and minimum consumers of energy and resources. To meet these emerging challenges institute has to demonstrate its ability and ingenuity by evolving appropriate and realistic strategies and making innovations as integral part of the education process.
Society looks upon Architects, as designers of quality built environment and promoters of quality of life. Accordingly, high degree of professional responsibility is cast on the institute, faculty and students to effectively respond to needs of the society. How best they are able to meet these challenges and needs will hold the key to their success.
I hope the institute, will look at these challenges more objectively and evolve options and strategies which will define a new agenda and road map for the profession of Architecture.
